Tony Williams

In his professional life, Tony has 20 years working in Marketing and Sales but more recently has joined the Civil Service. He is passionate about trying to make positive changes to overcome the growing division he’s seen in society recently. Being of a mixed Grenadian and Indian heritage has shaped his view of race and diversity with a unique perspective which influences his outlook to look beyond race while understanding the importance race plays in society as a whole.


Kava Johnson

Kava has over 15 years of experience in the Third sector in a variety of voluntary and salaried posts. She currently works for Hertfordshire County Council, supporting young people to prepare for adulthood in the 0-25 Service.
Kava’s love for community engagement started as a teenager in the church. From there the desire to learn about others and empower them to meet their needs has taken her to many different organisations in the UK and abroad.
Kava is a local girl and has spent most of her life in Hertfordshire. The daughter of parents born in Jamaica, the draw of learning about worlds different from the one around her came at a young age.
Now she is using her passion to contribute to the Diversity + Culture committee and serve the community yet again. She hopes to share her Caribbean culture with all, while supporting others from Caribbean community to do the same and learn more about all of the people who make up the melting pot of Herts.


Maureen-Rose Ezeofor

Maureen-Rose Ezeofor is Jamaican born and has lived in Hitchin for over 30 years. She went to Bowes Lyon School in Hitchin and to North Herts College Letchworth, studying catering. After being in the catering industry, she went to The University of Wolverhampton. She trained as a secondary school teacher then as Personal Development Trainer. In 2006 she set up her own consultancy business  in personal development and worked in the private and public sector delivering personal development training to women. Currently she is a full -time Carer for a family member while doing home study.
